I’m not from around here...
I wasn’t raised on a farm… I don’t know how to ride horses… I’ve never owned a pair of real "cowboy" boots… and I still wonder, what the big deal is about sweet tea? …but I’m not exactly from anywhere. My family moved a lot when I was growing up (Pennsylvania, Kansas, Massachusetts, Colorado, California… oh, did I mention I was born in Delaware?). ...so what brought me to Nashville? The HONESTY of the music. Country music is REAL. It started with people sitting around their homes singing songs about things that were going on in their lives… back then it was drinking, cheating, heart break, etc.… …oh wait, that’s still what it is! And ya know what? I wasn’t raised on a farm… I don’t know how to ride horses… I’ve never owned a pair of “cowboy” boots… but I KNOW what being real is and that is the only way I KNOW how to write. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to share my real thoughts with the world and I hope you all… or as they say around here, I hope “ya’ll” enjoy the music! Love, Courtney

AFTER GRADUATING FROM VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY, COURTNEY WORKED AS THE ASSISTANT FOR THE MERCURY/MCA A&R DEPARTMENT, AS OFFICE MANAGER FOR DIVER DANN MUSIC, OGLESBY WRITER MANAGEMENT & BIG LOUD SHIRT PUBLISHING COMPANIES, AND FINALLY AS CREATIVE DIRECTOR FOR STAGE THREE MUSIC NASHVILLE. IN OCTOBER OF 2006 COURTNEY SIGNED HER FIRST PUBLISHING CONTRACT WITH SKYLINE MUSIC AND JOHN & MARTINA MCBRIDE
